According to Nova Scotia's Day Care Regulations a license is not required for child care programs that have six children of any age, or eight school aged children attending (including the caregivers own children). In some regions of the province, referral programs have been set up to assist parents in accessing such programs.Other Child Care Information and Support Programs provide assistance in finding child care, what to look for, what to ask etc.
