Early Childhood Centre Administrator Certification (ECCA):
A Four-Step Process
Early Childhood Centre Administrator (ECCA) Certification is a
four-step process, taking the candidate through application,
evaluation, validation and recommendation. From application
through to certification, early childhood centre administrator
certification candidates are asked to reflect on their own growth
and development; on their practice and on the contextual factors
in which they practice. When the candidate is evaluating her peers,
she is also asked to reflect upon her peer’s practice.
This expectation for reflection is fundamental to the certification
process and is the catalyst which makes the process dynamic, useful
and enriching.
